Hello to everyone. I am new here to this forum and am very happy that I have found it.
I am currently taking Percocet 10mg for breakthrough, and Duragesic Fentanyl patch 75 every 2 days.
I wanted to change the Percocet to something else that does NOT contain acetemetaphen (sp?). I know that if this is taken for long periods of time it could be harmful to your health.
Is anyone aware if there is a 10mg Percocet,Vicodin, etc. that contains ibuprofen? I know that there is Vicodin but that only goes up to 7.5mg and not the 10mg that I am taking now.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Also, one more question. Does anyone have sleeping problems using the Duragesic patches?? I think it is because of the patches why I am having sleeping problems.
Thanks!!

Polobailey,
Hello and welcome to the boards. As to your question and hydrocodone and percacet with out the tynenol. hyrdocodone doesn't come in any preps that do not contain tylenol. The lowest amount of tylenol w/hydro is Norco at 325mg of tylenol. As for the percs go there is a drug called OxyIR which I take for break thru pain with no tylenol only oxycodone. It comes in different strenghts such as 5mgs,10mgs, and oxyfast at 20mgs. Sorry I can't give you any advice as regard to the fentyl patch because I take methadone. But the are alot of other people here that are on the patch that will be along shortly. Good to have a another new person here again welcome and keep posting.....

I take duragesic with roxicodone for breakthrough. Roxy is percocet without the tylenol and comes in many different strengths. I know what you mean about the tylenol. I had to switch to something with no tylenol as my liver enzymes went up. See this post for further. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/001052.html

Hi,
What kind of sleeping problems are you having?
I use Duragesic 50 mcg (1 patch every 72 hours) with Vicodin for breakthrough pain. Duragesic has never caused me sleeping problems. I have sleeping problems but they are not caused by Duragesic.
You might want to talk with your doctor about your sleeping problems. He/she can probably prescribe you something to help you with these problems.
You can also try checking the package insert that is included in every box of Duragesic to find out whether this medication can cause sleeping problems. Another possibility is to call Janssen, the manufacturer of Duragesic, and ask them the question. I have found them to be quite helpful with questions. They might have more information than your doctor because they are, after all, the manufacturer.
