Thought I wouldpost this as a new topic as well....
Just FYI on the constipation issue.... (we are all adults here right?)
I ended up having rectal surgery last year to repair an internal tear due to not taking care of the constipation side effect. It is done in day surgery with general anestetic. It is not fun, quite embarassing and NOT something I want anyone else to experience! Drink your water and take the stool softeners!!!

I hear ya on the stool softeners I take my Colace regularly...Constipation can also be due to IBS as well as the Narcotic medication. I get it both ways :( cant go then go to much. Its a battle at times whether to take the Colace or the Immodium. Just one of the not so wonderful things that go along with Cp and having to take opaites. I did take metamucil for awhile but quit that. I just eat fibre and drink water and for the other I take my Immodium and eat hard boiled eggs they do work. Take care.

I have one word for you,Mirilax. It truly has helped me when nothing else did.

I second Mira-Lax, Since my back injury and the medications etc.. (I have cronic IBS), not fun to have to drink several times a day, but hey when you need to go you gotta do what needs to be done. It is better than what could happen if you don't

I've never even admitted that I even had this surgery (rectal tear repair) to anyone excpet my mother - and that was only because she had to pick me up from the hospital! I am SO glad I've found the support from this board! THANK YOU!
