Hey Sassy,
I was in the same position as you and I finally told my doctor that I was having to take way too much vicodin to control my pain and I was concerned about the effect of tylenol on my liver. He agreed and ended up putting me on oxycontin and now I feel great for the most part. I always feel that if I am honest with my Dr he will usually do what I think is best for me. Hope this helps http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/heart.gif Mo

Hydrocodone/apap helps me out alot. I take it every
4-6hrs its the strongest thing that I can take and helps me a lot. try this one.

Lortab IS hydrocodone/apap! That's what sassymomof2 is already on, but it's not working near as well anymore due to tolerance.

Hey Sassy,
I have been wondering where you have been for the last little bit. I haven't seen you aroud. It's good to hear from you. Just a side note I can't stand to go to the ADHD board any more. I know we have talked about them in the past. It has just gotten way to nasty over there for me any more. Any how about your Docs appt on the 16th. I can only guess at what they may start you out on for a longacting med. The most common longacting preps are either Oxycontin which I have taken in the past or a morphine prep"like MScontin,Avizda,or I can't remember the other brand name" oh well brain fart. LOL. I doubt that he will start you out on methadone. They like to try the others first. Oxycontin did a pretty good job for me. And since the hydrocodone you did ok just not strong enough or lasted long enough I would bet that will be the one he will start you with. Just like Mo said tho just be as honest and as forth right as possible and everything will work out good for you. I might suggest that you start if you haven't already keeping a pain diary and to bring that with you as well. And be prepared to sign a pain contract. I didn't have to but there are alot of docs that require them. Sassy again its good to hear from you and keep us posted as to the progress.....
