Hi Deered
The moderator is the gatekeeper so to say... the wonderful people of the boards that monitor the actions of the posts and will sometimes move threads (posts) to appropriate sites that might get more help on other boards... ex. if a topic on a relationship board turned into a discussion about someone needing advice on Methodone perhaps the moderator might move it to Pain Mangement because more advice may be offered here...
Im not sure about the context your talking about for the "seeker" question... but Ive heard of drug seekers mentioned.. that would imply a person trying to get drugs with out a valid medical condition. (or so I understand it at least)
Now, the online drugs... I do not know about that ... so someone else will have to come along and clarify that one for ya :)
ok, this is how I understand everything... but if Im wrong about anything please, please, please ANYONE come and clearify this as I wouldnt want to give false info to anyone :) :) Thanks!
Love and Prayers,
Kim :)

Hi deered. I'm assuming Twist to mean me. I only have a vague recollection of the post you are talking about but I don't recall any post that I've responded to being moved to another board. I'm wondering if the post Whale and I had been on had been moved to this board from a different one. Deered is right about the moderator and the seeker. I can't tell you much about ordering meds on line other than some on here have. I'm not sure what all it entails.

Hi all! I don't know too much about the online drug pharmacies either, but can't figure out how they can get away with stuff like that! I have heard that people can order a certain drug online after filling out a medical history, pay for it(very expensive too!) and the drugs will be delivered to their door! What if someone has an alergic reaction to them or uses them to sell to kids or to overdose? Sounds to me like "big brother" isn't watching as well as we all thought! LOL!

I think most of those sites say they won't be liable for things like that. And also, I haven't seen any sites that allow strong narcotics to be sold... But I haven't been to all of them, mind you. But I'm sure most don't sell them, even if they say they do, but unfortunately you have to pay usually to just be a member, and then all it does is have a bunch of links to other sites that offer px's... I did all that once trying to find a good site that offered Prevacid for my step-dad... I went to ones that you need a px for though... Those online pharmacies are a joke for the most part... I still haven't found a good site to get cheap Prevacids for my step-dad. They pay so much money for those every month, it's ridiculous. And unfortunately, he owns his own business, so they don't have any kind of insurance let alone a prescription plan.
Anyway, I just wanted to give my opinion about those stupid online pharmacies.
Much http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/heart.gif to all of you, my good friends...

-21 year old chronic pain patient..
-Have a transitional vertebrae @ s1.
-Slight bulges in disks L4-L5 and L5-S1.
-adhesions from years of not knowing gallbladder was bad then had it removed, lots of abdominal pain now... also referred pain in mid and upper back from gallbladder as well...
-Chronic severe migraines, and tension headaches... Taking Axert for migraines.. Working well...Nothing px'ed for tension headaches... Sometimes even get both kinds of headaches at the same time..... Really weird.
-Lots of low back and mid back pain growing up..
-Then was in 2 very bad car accidents not even a year apart, 1@17y.o. and 1@18y.o. Had fractures in both... Arm in one, and wrist and hand in the other wreck. Arm was broke by airbag.. Wrist and hand by impact of hand slamming into steering wheel... Also had back, neck and chest (from seatbelt) pain from these wrecks. And in one slammed knees into dash. Also fell on ice a couple yrs ago and landed right on tail bone. This is what my PM doc feels caused the bulges.
-Also have had a few cysts on left ovary, that burst.
-Also had pre-cancerous cells on cervix, and had surgery in Dec. 2002 to have them removed. Have been having normal paps ever since! (Didn't have one of those for like 3 years!)
-Now having lots of knifelike shoulder pain between spine and shoulder blades..Also having a lot of hip/pelvic pain and soreness under my butt, if that even makes sense...And pain in low-back/sacral area and tailbone area...like it's going to crack and break or something... It hurts to sit for very long at all.
-Pain overall between 7-9 everyday with OR without meds.. Because Percocets aren't working well anymore at all.
-Still somewhat undiagnosed, but have had these tests for my pain issues... :
*CT Scan on entire spine
*CT Scan on abdomen
*X-rays on shoulder and entire spine
*MRI on head and spine
*Also been to these specialists: Chiropractor-Did adjustments, and a few other treatments; Orthopedic surgeon-gave stretches and PT exercises to do, also px'd Ibuprofen800 which I can no longer take any NSAIDs; D.O. (my PCP)-Did adjustments, and px'd my meds until I got into pain management.
Pain mgmt doc and his P.A. Have changed my previous meds, and plans on doing Trigger point injections and a couple steroid injections on November 19, 2003. Hope that helps! Then maybe I can go off these pain pills! If not, who knows what's going to go on, but I'm trying to stay positive!
-Started at PM Clinic on 9/9/03, and went wonderful. First saw the P.A. Then saw the PM doc on the 18th, and he's absolutely wonderful.
-Moderate case of TMJ
-Lots of throbbing pain in left knee and left arm from previous fractures.. (knee from sports; arm broke in a car accident)..
-Also arthritis in hands.. Broken 6 of my fingers several times, and also broke 3 of my toes...
-Meds I was taking, then the meds I was changed to and I'm taking now : Percocet 7.5/500 every 4 hrs as need for pain changed on 9/23 to Percocet 10 (hope it does better!), Flexeril 10mg 2x/day changed on 9/9 to Zanaflex 3x/day, Tofranil 50mg @ bedtime changed to Gabitril 40mg @ bedtime on 9/9, Imitrex for migraines changed to Relpax on 9/9 then to Axert on 9/18, also given Zoloft 50mg in the morning on 9/9 to counteract all the meds that make me drowsy to keep me more awake.
Anyway, I just wanted to give my opinion about those stupid online pharmacies.

Hi all, just to clarify a few things about online pharmacies.
Basically there are two types, some might say three if you include the internationals. The first type is a legitimate business that is licensed in that state of it's physical address that only sells medication that is prescribed by a US licensed medical doctor. These basicaly work the same way that your local pharmacy or mail order pharmacies do. In order to fill a prescription, the pharmacy needs to have the original copy of the "script" the doctor wrote. They can pretty much prescribe any type of mediction so long as the medication can be shipped from one state to another. These pharmacies are just as legitamate and legal as any other online business.
The second kind of pharmacy is the "no prescription needed" or "fringe" type of pharmacy. These pharmacies claim that you do not need a prescription from a doctor to order their products. They will provide a consultation with a licensed medical doctor for you based on a medical questionaire, and in some cases may send a field nurse to your residence to get vitals and record such things as appearance and overall health. Once all these steps are completed, the in-house MD will write a prescription for you, thus making it legal to sell prescription meds. These consultations are sometimes free, but more than usually cost you above and beyond the medication. With consultaion fees as high as $125 or more and medications costing anywhere from $50 to $200 for a bottle of 30 tabs. The same script would cost you one tenth as much if you purchased it at a local pharmacy and used your prescription plan (if available). These pharmacies generally do not accept inusrance prescription plans, so the cost is out of your pocket. Also, these pharmacies do not sell narcotics, sedatives or any medication that has the possibility of becoming habit forming. The majority of the customers of these fringe pharmacies purchase such meds as Viagra, allergy meds, sleepmeds, anti depressants and weight loss meds. There is currently alot of controversy over the practice of a doctor who has never physically seen you prescribing medications based on a health questionaire. Many states are banning these types of Pharmacies.
The third type of online pharmacy is the one with the biggest risk. Since the internet it self knows no global boundries, international pharmacies have sprung up on the web to sell to american consumers, just about any medication they want, with or without a prescription. All scheduled and non scheduled medication can be purchased through an international online pharmacy or IOP. When a consumer decides to shop at one of these IOPs, they are taking many risks, one being that the medication they are buying is not regulated by the FDA and may be substandard, outdated and in some cases Placebo. Also, US customs is cracking down on the importation of illegaly obtained medications. It is not a crime to order and pay for the medication from any IOP, but it can be a crime and a federal crime at that, if you have the product mailed to your US address from the foreign address of the IOP. The last risk consumers face in doing business with IOPs is that you may get scammed. You order a product, send a money order( never, never, never use your credit/debit card to make an international purchase of any kind as there is no fraud protection)and then never recieve your product and never hear from the pharmacy again. What are you going to do? Report the IOP to the better business bureau? Even if they could do something about your situation(which they cant) would you be willing to let them know you were importing non fda approved medication into the US?
So, online pharmacies are just like any other online business, you have your legit, trusted companies, your fringe businesses and then your scam or black market type businesses.
I hope this shed some light on the subject for you.

Hi Deered. Lake here. Twisten and I were worried about someone who was seeming to be going through a stuff time. I wondered what happened to that thread, not for any other reason than hoping the poster got to read it. Welcome and it seems all answers got great responses. I know I learned alot about those on line pharms. Take care., Lake

Thank you all so much for the info. I just posted the topic again because I looked for it yesterday and could not find it. I have a friend that just went on the net a she said she ordered percocet. I can't beleive that she will actually get them as percocet is a narcotic. If it does work than anyone can go online an buy anything. like Oxycotin and all that stuff. i am in a bind my brother stole my meds again and has left me empty He and his wife are no longer welcome in my house as this has happened now 2 times. I am so mad at him I could hurt him. I can't tell my DR because this has happened before and I am afraid I will be discharged. This really suck because withdrawls are hell. Please keep me in your prayers I don't go see my DR until the 8th of October.

Deered, I'm sorry to hear your brother robbed you again. October 8th is a long time to wait dear. Have you ever heard of tough love? I think your brother needs help. I know its hard to turn in someone you love but now you have to suffer because of him. When my daughter was a baby there was a knock on our door one day. Both my husband and I were home. I answered the door and there stood an RCMP officer. He asked for me by name and then proceeded to tell me he had a warrant for my arrest. There I am holding a new baby and I'm totally shocked. To make a long story short, my sister had got stopped for speeding and gave my name because she had warrants out for her. My husband told the police to go find her. At first I was angry with him but then I thought, what if they had of arrested me? If my husband hadn't of been home and I had been arrested what would happen to my baby? I know its not as serious as what your brother has done to you but sometimes you have to hurt them to help them is my point. I believe the post you are talking about was deleted by the moderators for good reason.
