Hey JW, For non chronic use 4000mgs a day is exceptable. For chronic use you should cut that in half to 2000mgs per day. IF your ears are still ringing than talk with your doc about the generic form of OxyIR, it comes in 5mg tabs with no apap. Or Roxicodone that comes in 15 and 30 mg tabs without apap.
There is no reason to take any apap unless it significantly helps and is well below what is considered a safe dose. A liver panel should still be done annually if you continue to use apap products.
The online generic price for 5mg oxycodone tabs is 28 cents a piece, why not just switch to generic OxyIR?
Vicodin in large quantities used to make my ears ring like the bells of Notre Dame from the apap. High BP can also do it. Someone in pain is likely going to have High BP and you shouldn't dismiss it as something that only occurs when your pain spikes. If your pain is 24/7 then so would your High BP.
