Hello
The Tens device is good at what it does. the largest problem is infection from the surgery. If you heal well, you will probably have little to no problems with it. Some of the infections can get bad enough to have need of removing the tens. They should have given you a test device that you wear on the outside so you can feel the function of it. Then, they will council with you and schedule the surgery and implant the device. After you heal from, it you should be doing great there after. This is my past experience. I could not heal from the surgery and did not get it completed.

Hi,
Did you have back surgery? Also did you have implant and they took it out? Were you awake during surgery? How are you feeling now? Mine is a w/c case, they have been good so far,but this is one year later and i just what some relieve from pain. Also does insur. continue for life after implant? I have read that, i hope so because you never know when problems will arise.
Thanks cookie

Hi
I have PN pain in my lags feet thighs and hands,\. I have hip and shoulder joint pain. I get burning connective tissue pains as well. They suggested that I get the tens to take care of this so I could go back to work. I had several allergies that cause open sores on me. These all took months to heal. So Due to this problem happening on an annual basis, I was told that I was no longer a candidate for the implant. I get skin infections every year and I am highly allergic to adhesives. So I constantly break out into sores. So I was a wash out for the tens to be continued.

Hi folks. Just for clarification, if you have are getting a stimulator 'implanted' it would not be a "TENS" unit. That stands for "Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator" which is a completely external unit meaning that the electrical pulses must travel through the skin and other tissues before it can reach a nerve, muscle or other target.
Stimulators (for pain) which are surgically implanted are generally SCS - Spinal Cord Stimulator (also known as a DCS - Dorsal column Stimulator), or PNS Peripheral Nerve Stimulator - (used on nerves outside of the spine). Both consist of an IPG (Implanted Pulse Generator) and the leads that conduct the signal to the nerve(s).

A friend recommended this site for me to check out. It is regarding the stimulator implant and some other options. It is VERY INTERESTING. She is going to have it done and once she gets it over with, I will see how she likes it and if it works as well as they claim.

If anyone has any advise about this specific implant, please post. I would like to hear as much about this as possible before considering the procedure.
Take care and THANKS!!

My daughter just moved out today, she is staying by her girlfriend who lives close to her job. She is a teacher and she just started, she is teaching 4th. grade, she really loves it. I am so glad because of the wedding thing it is keeping her busy. I just pray she meets a good man, thats all a parent can hope for.
Well take care and i will let you know when they call about implant.
