Here I am, once again, wide awake and in pain. My doctor finally called me back on friday and told me to take the Neurontin again and call back on Monday. I took the Neurontin for over a month before without results so I don't know why she thinks another three days is going to make a difference. I am so tired of this whole process. I took the Ambien she gave me for sleep over an hour ago and it's not doing anything either. So I guess it's another night of dealing with the pain and no sleep. 9 more days until my first injection, but it might as well be 9 months. Plus, she said they probably won't help until the 3rd one, and that one is not scheduled until December 3rd. I have never been so miserable in my life and don't know why they can't do something to help me. Monday, I know exactly what's going to happen. I'm going to call, the nurse will say she will pass the info on to the doctor, and I won't hear back for another 3 or 4 days. Then when they do call back it'll be another ridiculous idea just to keep me hanging. When this is all over I'm going to make sure and tell my doctor how much I hate her. Sorry, I just can't find a positive bone in my body tonight. Thanks for letting me rant.

First, I'm soooo sorry to hear that you're having the problems that you are. I can completely sympathize with your sleep issues and the whole doctor/med thing. I wish that I could offer you some advice that would help, but I can't. I can't get my own pain under control enough to sleep a whole night through either. I've discussed it with my doctor, but he believes the Valium should be helping (and it does a little). But I'm still up 4-5 times a night, flipping channels, smoking a cigarette and wondering why I can't be normal. The stess from not sleeping is awful and I'm exhausted everyday due to it.
How weird it all is....my meds make me soooo tired and I'm actually trying to find something to keep me awake during the day so I can work & take my pain meds and when I get home, all I want to do is sleep. I just can't stay asleep and it kills me, too.
I just wanted to say - I'm sorry for what you're going through. I sympathize with your situation and am here if you need to talk.

Hello,
I am SO sorry to hear what you are going through.
Can you find a new doctor??? In my experence, finding a doctor that you "click" with is the key in receiving good pain management. Have you tried other PM doctors or thought about switching? I do not know your exact medical issues.. but, depending on the prognosis, this could be a doctor that you have a relationship for a long time. I would really recommend that you find someone you work well with, get along with and feel comfortable talking to and everything!
Just my two cents! Good luck and let us know how things are going!
