I know that this is off the subject of PM but I live here in this wonderful city and would like to ask those of you who are willing to pray for us. The winds are really fueling the fires and people have lost their lives and homes and everything they own. One of those persons happens to be a friend of mines mother. while trying to escape her and her husband took seperate cars and they got seperated some how. He tried to find her but couldn't. She apparently came across a wall of fire and could do nothing. She died in her car. Her husband has lost everything.. his wife first and for most his dogs his house and all his belongings which really doesn't mean a thing when you have lost the one you love so dearly. My poor friend was watching tv that morning when they showed a car and a dead woman on the side of the road. It was her mom. Thats how she found out. There are fires blazing all around us and the devestation is unthinkable. So please say a prayer for those who have lost lives those who have lost their homes and those who have to live with this for the rest of their lives. Please pray that they get these fires under control as soon as possible. Thanks everyone. Mo

Mo;

I will definately keep you and those around you in my prayers. I feel so bad for your friend. That is a horrible way to find out about someone you care about. It breaks my heart to even think about your friend and what she/he must have been feeling when they saw that on t.v.

Please take care and stay safe you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you so much for your reply. My children are out of school today since the air quality is sooo unhealthy. In fact all over San Diego and Riverside county all the schoolsare closed. I believe that as far as air quality and its safeness goes 30 is an acceptable condition; right now its a bit over 90 from all the smoke and ash in the air. Its very sad to sit here and watch all these people who have lost so much crying on tv. One man had 6 propertys that he lost along with antiques and 10 antique jaguars. It's amazing how your life can change in an instant. One day your happy on top of the world and the next total devestation. My heart goes out to all the people as it really has hit home for me. Thanks again for your well wishes. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/heart.gif Mo

Dear Mo, My heart goes out to everyone that has endured the fires and their devastating affects. I sure hope that all the communities that have been affected from the fires are all pulling together to help those in need and that God will have his hand in the healing. I am not there to witness such a tradgedy, but please know that I will pray for you and others, and I send good thoughts and hopes for the fires to end. Take care, God Bless,SusieQ

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. This is definatly a time for prayer and for those around us to come together and help one another. We have just had a whole town wiped out yesterday the town of Cueamaca (i know sp is wrong!!!). The fire is now threatening the beautiful and historic town of Julian. The whole town is evacuated. Also up in Big Bear my grandfather had to evacuate; thank God he is a healthy and pretty mobile person and has no problems getting around. Well now its time to put our new govenor elect into action to see wat he can acomplish for us here in getting us the aide that we need since Gray Davis can't seem to get it done! Thank you all for you well wishes prayers and thoughts for us here. Take care http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/heart.gif Mo

Hi Mo

Just drove home from Yosemite today, and saw some horrible sights near Valencia. Fire all over the mountains near Six Flags/Magic Mountain. Luckily we got across right before they shut down the 5 Freeway, but it was so pitch black, it was hard to drive. The flames were on the verge of jumping the freeway. My boyfriend and I couldn't believe what we were seeing. Down here in La Jolla, its a little dark, but nothing like north of LA, as it is totally devastated. You can see house after house burned down RIGHT next to the freeway, and firefighters everywhere. Its hard to believe this is actually happening right in front of us.

I am sorry to hear about your friends loss. Take care of yourself.

Love,
Sara

Sara!
Glad to hear that you made it back ok I knew that you were going up north to go hiking and was worried that you would be caught up in that horrible mess! Were you with the boyfriend that you just broke up with? Are things going better for you? I hope so! Here in Oceanide the smoke was so thick your eyes were burning and it made me totally sick to my stomach. Then I had to go to Escondido on Tuesday to get my daughters girls scout vest from my friend and it was a nightmare there. The news says that the smoke is worse there than anywhere else. I believe it! My kids are out of school yet another day and when I explained to them that they were going to have to make up these days at school at the end of the year they weren't so happy to be at home especially since I won't hardly let them outside. It's just not good for them. Ok babbled long enough!Thanks so much for your support it means alot to me. Take care of yourself Sara and keep me posted on you! Love Monica

John,
Thank you for your prayers and kind words. As far as I know the fires have not effected the areas where your friends live but you might not be able to get through for several reasons 1. alot of the phone lines and electrical lines have been destroyed and 2. there might also be an overload of curcuits in the area due to everyone calling to see if family and friends are ok. I know that were were trying to get ahold of my sons best friend up north to make sure that he was ok but we had the same problem. If I hear anything regarding those areas I will let you know. Thank you once again! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/heart.gif Mo
