Has anyone else "discovered" that they have degenerative bone disease? I've had fusioon on 2 vertebrae in my neck, with 2 more to go, hopefully not too soon, and just finished arthroscopy, where they removed part of the knee cap, and smoothed and rounded off the disintegrating parts of the remaining kneecap (inside) and the top of the tibia. I only had spinal anaesthesia, so was able to view on the TV montior the entire procedinings. Being a nurse, clinically I found it all very interesting. But the post op is no fun, lots of leg swelling, aching, etc. Anyway, seems like I'm just waiting to find out the next bone to start disintegrating. Any thoughts or comments appreciated.

I have had hip pain but figured that was hereditary. My older brother has had hip replacement at age 57 (no fun either).
