HI,

i am new to this board i just found it tonite http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif i have a question or advice, my son who is 2 was evualated for speech (he only says a few words) and after he was evaulated the word ADD was kinda thrown out at me very losely he may or may not have signs but my question is isn't it a bit to early to think he might have ADD??? he makes eye contact he will "sometimes" repeat what the speech teacher says etc........ so i don't know what to think any advice or comments would be helpful

I think it is too early to really tell if he has ADD or not since he is not into reading or writing yet. With ADD a distraction would cause you to loose your place in whatever you were doing and then you quite literally need to start all over. I am not sure how the speech teacher can see that in your child at his young age.

at a year and a half it was clear my son had ahhd
he avoided things that took concentration like puzzles or requiring good hand eye cordination and he didnt like to look at books, pictures ect.by 3 or 4 preschool was impossible. he could not sit long enough to recite the first prase of the abc's, dont worry about it now cause if your state is like calif. they (state)wont help pay for diagnosis treatment or meds till 6 years or older
