My MDS has prescribed SinemetCR
By the third week I'll be at 800mg a day
Is anyone on this high of a dose? Side effects?
Has anyone taken the generic carbi - levo and found it lacking?
Thanks for reading / responding!

I take 1,000 mg Sinemet CR per day and always buy generics. If you are overdosed on Sinemet, you migt get dyskinesia. It is not tremors, but can't stop writhng and jerky movements until the blood level drops.

Hello Mike,
I was on 800 mg of Sinemet before my DBS/STN operation. It's not an unusual dosage.

Sorry, I didn't get to the second part of your question. I took generics but told my doctor that they didn't work as well as the regular Sinemet. He said that some people need the brand name and can't tolerate the generic, so he put on my prescription tha brand name only.
Also, the pharmacy kept changing my generic, which I think was part of the problem.

I take generic Sinemet, and it helps enormously. I'm not on a high dose right now, but may need to increase my dose by one pill a day, or maybe add another medication.
Some of my symptoms I am not sure are even related to my Parkinsonlike condition (I'm undiagnosed at this time) but the Sinemet generic sure gets rid of these tremors.
Take Care now.
Sincerely,
Caring
