Sonny, I have experienced weith gain from Mirapex partly due to adema in my legs and feet. The Neuro said it was a side effect of all agonist (permax, requip, etc.) and I could try cutting down on my dosage to see if it would help, but I would lose the benefit of the help of the Mirapex gives in combating PD Symptoms. I have cut back to 2 a day from three. I take 1/2 morning and noon and 1 full at night. I really can't tell how much of the symptoms have gotten worse or not.

I have gained about 15 lbs. but I attribute it to eating too much and not enough activity. And boy, is it hard to get rid of any of it. It's interesting that you attribute weight gain to Mirapex. I am on mirapex and the dosage is about to be increased. I hope I don't put on any more weight.

I've been on 4 mg. Mirapex about a year, and noticed weigiht gain, 15 #, but can't attribute it all to the drug. I've definitely become more housbound, due to more physical problems. Am about ready to go on my fall/winter/spring soup diet, which seems to help my weight as well as the ever present constipation. Don't know that this helps answer your question, but wish you luck. Mirapex does work well for me, though I'm seeing increased problems, and am sure the neuro is thinking Sinemt is around the corner. Lory
