Hello all,
This is mostly off the subject of Parkinson's and I hope those who read this will not be offended. I have something I feel like shouting and I want to share. At first, I wasn't very confident and only a couple of you knew. I feel better about it now and want all to know I am in REMISSION (primary peritoneal carcinoma - stage 4). I guess today, starting on the daily Tamoxifen pill, helped me realize it's true and pretty much put everything in prospective. After 31 I.V. chemo treatments, since Feb. no more, at least for a while. It has played havoc with my Parkinson's. I was wondering if there are any other P.D. folks out there, with similar "aggravations" to say the least, that have developed good coping skills and lots of patience to deal with more than one such major problem. I could use some. I guess you do what you have to do and put up with what you have to, but it gets old fast, as a lot of you know from experience, especially with so many medications and so many symptoms, etc. etc.

Hi Betty,
Thanks so much for sharing with the whole board! It makes it easier to respond when we know there are other problems too.
I think there should just be one serious disease per person, i.e., Parkinson's, cancer, MS, etc., but God, in his infinite wisdom, thinks otherwise. I guess it makes us stronger in the long run, but it sure is difficult to manage.
I feel doubly blessed to have had the DBS and feeling so good. Maybe it won't last a long time, but just being able to forget about PD for a little while has been well worth it.
Again, thanks for sharing.

Betty -thanks for sharing - it makes us feel like friends, for sure. Had a neuro exam by a state-directed disability claim Dr. todya. Young fellow. I almost laughed at his near incomprehension, that "at my age" I have more than my share of "disabilities". My husband often thinks it unfair that we get heaped-upon, to quote some elderly person some time in my life. Do keep us informed, so we might better share your confidence. Lory
