Hi BB Friends,
Now it's my turn to ask for a little prayer. On the 13th (my first DBS anniversary) I'm having surgery to correct a damaged ulnar nerve in my right arm. For at least 2 weeks I will not have use of my right arm (yes, I'm right handed!). That means I'll need a hospital bed so I can at least get out of bed. I bet mine will be the first one that sports a satin sheet!!
And I'm also waiting for approval to have a 2nd DBS for the other side of my body. I'm looking forward to having both, but believe it or not, I'm more worried about the after-care for the arm surgery than I am for the brain surgery!
MERRY CHRISTMAS - AND MOST IMPORTANTLY - A HEALTHY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU!
Sandy

Of course, you have my prayers, Sandy, and I'm sure the prayers of others on this board. If your first DBS surgery took place on the 13th, and it was so successful, the 13th is definitely not a bad luck charm for you. In fact, it must be good luck, so don't worry about your surgery. I'm sure you are more concerned with the healing of the arm than anything else, and I can certainly see why. The after-care is much worse than brain surgery!! LOL
Anyway, as soon as you have the second DBS, you should be as good as new. Your ulnar nerve will be fixed and your brain will be fixed. You should be able to do anything you want.
Love and ((((((((((((Sandy)))))))))))))))

Sandy, I had my C-4/C-5 fusion on Monday, so I know you will have had the best of luck on Thursday, yesterday, since my surgery progressed well. No lifting for me until next week, then only gradually up to 10# until January 10. So, know what the right'handed problem for you will be. It seems you have a good attitude, and that will take you far. Everytime I have surgery, I have to learn all over again what anaesthesia does to a body -- I just get tired all over. Must be time for a nap all of a sudden, ha ha. You are definitely at the top of my positivie thoughts/prayers list. Lory
