I asked earlier about whether this could be from my meds, but thinking on it, my mother had the same thing but she was in her sixties and I am just in my forties. It is worse in the mornings, and when I am nervous.. My head shakes..usually just mildly back and forth..I have no other symptoms. I have a hard time controlly it.. I went for an ex-ray of my neck a while back and couldn't keep still for them to take the picture. It used to be barely noticable, but now people are noticing and asking if there's a problem.. I'm scared to death to go to the doctor. Could this be just a simple tick and nothing to be concerned about?? I find myself holding my head with my hands when I am sitting so no one will notice.Thank you. Laura

Laura, I don't have a clue what is causing your head shaking except it dosn't fit pd. For your on peace of mind, make an appointment with a neurologist, preferably a movement disorder specialist. The anxiety of not knowing may be worse then the disease.

Laura,
You have to see a MDS as Bruce said.It is better to know than worry yourself. It needs to be treated.

Hi Laura,
It sounds to me like you may have Essential Tremor, which is not anything like Parkinson's or as serious, but bothersome just the same. As suggested, I would see a Movement disorder Specialist and get it checked out.
