I have tried to write myse;f notes and would forget where i left the notes. My solution is simple. I thought what was the most important items, wallet, charge cards, and my pd meds.
So what i do is i never lay the items in a different place, but always put them in a small llBean zippered bag and where ever i go i always bring the bag.
I havn't lost any of the important items since i started the habit. It's always the first place i look.

Bruce, what a great idea! I, too, have gone through the writing myself notes only to lose them. I'm going to try it your way.

Ruth and Googy, before i adopted this procedure, i would lose my car keys and wallet many times. It got so serious thst i had to do something. It cured the problem.
I think it was caused by the DBS surgery.

Short term memory loss is a bad one for me at the moment.
I can't remember whether I've taken my tablets or not. One example is that I was just looking for my Sinemet bottle, found it, put it down to go on to the Internet and now cannot remember whether I took them or not.
My solution is to make up a chart with my medications written on it. It stays on my desk and as soon as I take the tablets I tick it for that day. I make myself go to the chart and tick it, I have too. I'm on 10 medications for different things and I can't afford to overdose obviously.
Does this go away, or does the memory loss stay?
To Bruce and Googly your posts are priceless for information and sympathy.

Rosie, i can relate to your problem. I am just guessing, but i think my poor memory was caused by two DBS surgeris.
I just ordeered a small (four inches long) pill container that can be put on a key chain and it will hold one dose of pills. I don't go anywhere without my bag of pills and other important items.
It seems to be permanant, so we have to continue to look for some little tricks to handle it. As long asi don't lose my wallet, pills and keys, i have it made.
I suspect poor concentration may be the cause of the problem.
