Fortunatly, i have a nice neighbor who allows me to use his pool.
Out of the water, i can't walk without a walker, without pain from arthritis in both knees. In the water, it is just the oppsite. No balance problem, no pain and i can walk like a normal person.
The temp. has been getting up over 90 degrees with high humdity, and it is hard to cope with.
If you have access to a pool, i would recommend it. It's one good way to beat the heat and the exercise is good for you.

Bruce,
The pool is wonderful for almost everyone for almost everything.
It is the best way to get excercise for a person with PD. We put in an above ground last year. My husband gets in almost everyday, this time of the year. You are so right. No balance problem and he can move weightless. It has been a lifesaver.
Thanks for getting the word out there!

a pool is great. My mom has one that is only 5 feet deep (inground though). It's great cause she can stand no matter where she is.
Swimming is a excellent exercise.

Yes Googy you spelled my nickname correct. The girls that I work with gave that to me a long time ago. And it has grown on me.
How are you doing? How has Bill adjusted to being away from home?
My husband also did not want to get into the pool. Then I started getting in and he seen how fun it was.
It is getting more difficult for him to walk so this is the way he gets his excerise. I think that we need to get a spa because when the water drops below 80 it is no fun to get into it.
Take care and God Bless,
Conchata

Hi everyone,
One word of caution re pools. Please make sure you have someone else there that can swin or at least get emergency help just in case you have a freezing spell or get into some trouble. It's never good to swim alone, but especially for someone with PD it's so important to have someone else there.
