I was wondering if any males with schitzophrenia find that their medication stops them ejaculating.

My partner has just had his dose of melleril I think it is called up to 75mg a day from 50mg as he was getting angry easily etc. He also takes stelazin.

He has only been on the higher dose for about a week but he already thinks he isn't coming. He says it feels like he does but nothing is coming out.

Has anyone else experienced this, and if it is the case then do you still feel the relief of an orgasm or what is the go. It sounds awful to me not being able to do it.

My son has schizophrenia and I showed him your question. He said he has experienced that at times even though he is on clozaril. He said stress sometimes can keep the 'climax' away and mellarill could also be the culprit. I hope all works out.

Thankyou, it weems to be sorting its self out now that he has been on the new dose for a few weeks. Maybe it was the shock to his system at first, but hopefully it is going to be ok.
thanks again for replies

My son age 32, is on high doses of five medications, mainly haldol. He has major problems sexually. His privates are inverted like a turtle's head. He even has problems urinating. Nurses at county mental health told him that if he wanted to have sex, he would have to go off the medicine for a day or so. Either way it is not good.

Certain medications definately make it harder to achieve ejaculation. Paroxetine is a major culpert in this.
However, Bupropion works very well to alleviate this problem, and is combined regularly with other medications to increase their effectiveness.
Bupropion is working so well, that other "Non Depressed" people are being prescribed it if they are having trouble with ejaculation.
