My fiance was on Effexor, and he is currently on his way down off it. It's a long story, but he no longer wants to be on it and needs to go through the withdrawals. The doctor tapered his dose to this point, but that's no longer possible. He's on the lowest dose possible, so from that dose to zero is the smallest jump he can make.

I need to know if anyone has any tips to make the withdrawals easier. He's suffering from chills, nausea, abdominal pain, insecurity, dizziness, and an out-of-body feeling. Please HELP US, if you can!!!

I had the exact same problem, even when I withdrew from it slowly. The dizziness was the worst. I also kept getting these flashing lights when I would turn my head - almost like a strobe light effect going on. A friend of mine is a pharmacist and told me to get dramamine. It really helped me a lot! Give it a try. Be sure to get the original Dramamine, not the non-drowsy formula.

Good luck.
