Answer: I do not have schizo. (as far as I know at least) but if I concentrate real hard and think of a song I can hear it in a very distant and quiet way.I think this is normal and u have nothing to worry about. kudzu 08-28-2003, 03:11 AM I'm schizophrenic. I hear all sorts of sounds! Some of them resemble musical instruments. But it's not like getting a song stuck in your head. phaededreps 09-22-2006, 07:29 AM i hear music all the time...hard to explain really...i am not quite sure if this is a phenomenon linked solely to schizophrenia or not...i've asked several unaffected friends and they say that happens to them occassionally also. momentary 09-22-2006, 12:17 PM I never listen to the radio or cds - I have music constantly playing in my head that I dont need to!! Sometimes the music is so loud that I have to sing along, (it can be embarrassing when you're in the street!!) - half the time I don't know whether they're songs that I've heard or songs I've made up. The songs are generally without words, and they loop so that I listen to the same song for a couple of days then it changes. I don't hear voices at all, except my own, of course!!):D . sky_028 09-22-2006, 11:31 PM :jester: I have both also. Like when i wake up in the morning i will hear music in my head some times. some times I hear the radio and no radio on. Songs with words and music, but when I am aware of it that I don't know the words to some of these songs, but the words just come out. weird isn't it ? makeworldgoaway 09-29-2006, 10:07 PM I am schizoaffective & I sometimes hear voices & I hear music 24/7 in my head, unless I am sleeping. I try to drown it out with other thoughts but as soon as I stop the music is back. Sometimes it relates to what I'm thinking, sometimes not. GatsbyLuvr1920 10-02-2006, 06:37 PM I have OCD and Asperger's, so I don't have auditory hallucinations, but I constantly get songs, musical patterns, and bits of movie/TV quotes stuck in my head, which I usually need to repeat. -GatsbyLuvr1920- ozzmo 10-18-2006, 01:08 PM yes chap i uste to hear music, a year ago, when i was half awake in a dream, i heard like the whole of the stair way to heaven exactly as it was on the CD. tim905 10-20-2006, 02:37 AM Music..Music..every where.. dfwgoodguy 10-20-2006, 05:12 AM The music either comes from your memory, or you are tuning in to it through the air, a person or an emotion (memory). Frustrated by this music? Feel like its uncontrolled? Want it to stop? Then the first thing to do is, stop thinking. Meditation is the 100% cure for this. Once knowledge on meditation has been achieved, for at least 3-4 months. You should become able to silence your mind with ease. As meditation takes practice and effort, you must push forward with it. Do not seek results, other than learning to silence your mind. The internet is filled with so much information, I truly do not understand why people do not use it for self-help and personal growth. Wanna stop the music? Wanna stop the voices? Wanna stop rambling in your head? Wanna get to sleep faster? Wanna stop the negative thinking? Wanna stop feeling depressed, because of your thinking and dwelling on pain, anger, sadness? Wanna become more intelligent? Wanna think more clearly? Wanna save money, not buying medications that do the thought control for you? Wanna actually become the future planner of your life? Wanna be able to conquer diseases? Wanna conquer yourself? Meditation. If it was a simple thing to accomplish, we'd all be winners. But we can't all be winners, or can we? Meditation. Take the time, learn it, focus and attack. Attack until the enemy is defeated. Take the time (sit and meditate) learn it (read up on it) focus (practice practice practice) and attack (live in meditation) enemy is defeated (negative thinking, uncontrolled thoughts - music, etc) tim905 10-20-2006, 09:54 AM I think that praying is the best type of meditation:angel: . dfwgoodguy 10-21-2006, 12:15 AM I think that praying is the best type of meditation:angel: . I have read, and too believe that praying is more heart oriented than head oriented. In prayer you are praying, which means you are thinking, asking, or giving information or "love". In meditation you are clearing your head completely of any thought, and becoming thoughtless. I also feel that meditation along with or before prayer is the best. Meditation can clear your head completely of all thinking, positive and negative. With prayer, all your thoughts, questions, etc, are or should be positive. Meditation can lead you to a no thought mindset, and adding prayer along to it, you can gain a more positive outcome. For some, who are not religious, meditation can be used to silence the mind. And you can begin to use the silence to add positive thoughts, or stay with nothing at all...which is nice too. This is not my opinion that meditation is the cure for negative thinking, it is a proven fact. It might not be given by doctors, or psychiatrists...as meditation is free..And anything that is free, is usually not given as an option, if money can be made. That is life, learn to understand life is just a business, and in the larger scheme of things, we are merely a product in this world, if we allow ourselves to be. Take it or leave it...but it is fact. Wake up. Good Luck.... Love is the answer, and it always has been. But its too easy to be negative, and that is where the mind will usually lead you, if you do not take control. Or you let medications take control for you....again...wake up.. FANTABULOUS 11-07-2006, 03:00 AM Hearing Music was the staring point for me. The more impressive was seeing news broadcasts with my eyes closed. Later, perhaps at 11:00, I would watch the news and sure enough what I had seen before in my mind was now being shown on the TV. It was as if I had seen the 6:00 news by using someone else's eyes. dfwgoodguy 11-08-2006, 04:41 AM Impressive indeed. Fear it?.....No?...Pimpster. Fear it?...Yes?..STOP! Live it and love it. With fear you will grow with it, with no fear you will grow past it. The greatest skill in life, is the ability to be content. Contentment is the answer to mans problem with problems...(that was as a nerd would say "leet") If that was caught at all, again...Pimpster. Otherwise...try to understand it...learn to swim in the deep waters. |
