others are talking to me. if i am interested in the subject i can hold my own but if not then i can see their lips moving and im trying to act like i am listening but my mind is on "did i feed the dog,is it suppose to rain today,did i pay such and such bill, " etc. ive been like this all my life, and that isnt good while you are in school! i also do this when reading, i read the same sentence 5 times before i comprehend it! this in turn keeps me from interacting socially as well as i should ( i think). can you have only one symptom of add? i havent done much research but rather i stumbled across this site and decided to ask.

Those are classic symptoms of AD/HD. You probably have more but aren't aware what AD/HD symptoms are.
Search for "BRAIN PLACE" on google, and take an online questionaire, print it out and take it to a psychiatrist who deals with AD/HD regularly.
