I have been trying to gather imformation on essential fatty acids. I have seen references to fish oil and to flax seed oil. Is there any differences where ADHD is concerned. What would be the dosage for a 90# kid?HOw is it supplies, when do you give it, etc? How does it make a differnce, does it make you feel different? Is anyone taking this with Strattera?

I'm soooo confused. Please help

I have been going on the "alternative medicine" board and have read alot about fish oil, and flax seed. It was very enlightening.

I bought my son fish oil from the health food store and he has taken it along with Ginkgo. He seems more attentive, and alert. I had recently taken him off his meds. though as we had way TOO MANY problems!!

Check out that board...it helped alot.

I'm with Linda....how do you know what to buy. I went to the store yesterday and i was a bit confused. I could buy Fish oil or Flax oil tablets. I guess my question is if I buy the Omega 3 will it have both of those ingredients in it as well as others? I was also confised by the pricing, some are more expensive than others. How do I know which to buy?

I have been using Fish oil for two years now with great success. I have been able to reduce my meds by 50%. I use fish oil doesn't go bad as fast as flax can. some of the price difference with fish oil is, some are more concentrated with Omega 3's and some have been filtered. I use a good grade filted fish oil, now it is filtered to make sure there are no heavy metals in it. some of the cheep brands may contain heavy metals

Hi Humanspirit,

Very good list! I had a question...the soybean can also be in the form of oil for benefits as well as the bean? I wondered, because I am interested in Omegas; also I noticed the other day my popcorn popping oil has soybean oil as the first ingredient...so I am hoping this is a tasty way to get some Omegas too?

Thanks mickimac. I enjoyed the links. I did not know about the PMS and menstral pain benefits; must tell my daughter about that one! But I am 45; perhaps soy oil will be more helpful in the future for menopause? Right now, my cycles are more regular than my daughter's, so this would be for the future, though!

Jennita~
You're welcome! Anyone can beconme estrogen dominant, even menopausal women. Estrogen replacement should be opposed with daily progesterone.
