Was wondering if any Adult males on Stattera have had any side effects? (Please only Adult Males share your experences with Stattera thanks)

Also this was posted before and there was never a follow up, anyone know anymore about this...
"The drug Strattera has a very interesting behaviour. It has a short half life in plasma - something like 3 hrs - but it accumulates in the brain because it has a strong affinity for lipids. What the package insert doesn't tell you is that semen has a high lipid content so Stratera accumulates in the male reproductive tract. I think that Strattera will be just about useless for any male past puberty because it makes the male reproductive system dysfunctional."

I had to stop strattera since my prostate problems increased.My URO don't have a clue about this "Lipid" theory. My URO talked with Lilly and they are also saying that they have no more to share other than that given in prescribing info. My Uro is suggesting to take care of prostate problem and then try strattera again along with prostate medication. May be I would give it a try since strattera definitely helped for my adhd symptoms...

I havent noticed a difference really since starting strattera. My sex drive is still ok and I can still reach climax when desired.

Today has been my 8th day on strattera. Today while urinating, the last few drops didnt't come out like usual, instead it was a rather copious amount of semen. I've also had semen leak unexpectedly a couple of times since taking the med. It's almost as if theres an abundance of fluid being produced. I am 40 years old and am only on strattera. I was also curious if this had happened to anyone else. Otherwise, I have been satisfied with the med. so far.

I am on day 3 at 18 mg, suppose to go to 25 mg at day 5, and then up to 60mg over the next week. I am taking 300 mg of welbrutin and 400 mg of provigil as well. I have add and slight depression. Doc wants to take me off the others if the Strattera works. So far, I was a bit nausea the first day, second day lots of energy, and executive functions improving, heart rate up a bit. Today, still have relief from symptons, but blood pressure is way down and its not as easy to get it up. I am usually very energetic down there, but today it took far longer and never got quite up to its usual strength. Also, I have no real appetite, if I didn't force myself I would eat only a small meal each day. Anyone else having similar effects?

I am having the very same side effects that have been described above. About 3 hours after I take my 40mg afternoon dosage my testicles feel like they are about to pop. Then when I go to pee, I never feel like I finish and at the end a little drop or two of semen comes out. Then while maturbating I ejaculate and then the orgasm comes about a minute later...and is not as strong and does not shoot near as far. I stopped taking Strattera and about a day later it seems that most all of those side effects have stopped. Any one else have any suggestions or comments?

I'm a 29 year old male, and have been on Strattera for about 3 weeks or so now.

I have also seen seman in the last few drops of my urine sometimes -- though it has *always* been in the morning after a night where I had sex.

I have had a tremendous increase in appetite. i didn't know whether to atrribute that to NOT being on Ritalin, or the Strattera, or if it was unrelated, but now it seems to be Strattera-specific, I guess?

(fortunately, my wife has always had a huge appetite -- now I can keep up with her -- woo hoo!)


I have had some pain in my testicals that I hadn't felt since high school -- it could only be described as "blue balls-ish." Having sex often seems to help this.

I have also been waking up with very long lasting -- and sometimes painful -- "morning wood."


Altogether, the increase in appetite has been a positive for me and my wife. If I was single, or my wife wasn't as interested as she is, it might be frustrating, however.
