View Full Version : older males not having side effects on Strattera?

My 11-year-old son has been on Strattera for about 4 months. It took 2 months to get the dosage right but now he is doing SO much better than he was on Adderal, Metadate CD, or Concerta. He has gained weight, is focusing, is no where near as hyper, is much more pleasant to be around, and is sleeping 9 hours a night. I am concerned, though, because he has begun to go through puberty and I've read about the sexual side effects some males have suffered. I would like to know if there are teen and adult males who have NOT suffered any of these side effects. Our son's doctor said he hasn't heard many negative reports but it sounds like a lot who post here have experienced them. I also know, however, that more people are likely to discuss negative things that have happened. So, if you are an adult or teen who has NOT experienced the sexual side-effects, and don't mind posting about it, please let us know. There are a lot of moms out here concerned about their sons using Strattera. Thanks!

thnks for asking this question..I have in several other posts and have not had any feedback. My son is in the first month of Strattera after trying everything else. He is finally sleeping. Can't say he is easy to be around...more edgy than when he was first on Concerta but we are 13 1/2 and feeling the full effects of being a teen. More siding with Dad and more arguing with Mom...sort of the breaking away stage and also I am the one who keeps after him...let me know if you hear anything
