I have a bunch of cold sores that are starting to appear on my face. At the age of 16, I have never had a cold sore before now. I think that I may have contracted herpes through oral sex. But I also have a rash. Is this a coincidence, or is it a sign of another STD?

What kind of a rash do you have and where is it located and when did it start etc. A rash can be caused by anything from heat to allergies etc. As for the cold sores you are right that they are caused by the herpes virus but usually by another strain of the herpes virus. Just because you have never had one before doesn't mean you can't get them at any point in your life as the herpes virus lives inside your body. If this is a true possibility that you have genital herpes on your face then see the doc and get it checked out. If these are just regular cold sores then follow standard practice for treating cold sores and use good handwashing technique so that you don't spread it to someone else.

You could have also contracted the cold sore by kissing someone with a cold sore.

Cold sores are herpes, they just affect the face. Genital herpes is well on the genitals, though it can also break out on the face. You could have always had the facial herpes, they are just breaking out now. Or you could have contracted the facial herpes from someone else.
If your rash is affecting your genitals then you probably have got genital herpes, any way go see a doctor to find out.
