Hey Every1!
Om here is my question... What is the actual chance of getting pregnant if I have been on Birth Control for 5 months, taken it perfectly and never missed a pill, but didn't use a condom? I mean is it like being hit by lightning type of slim chance? Thanx Every1... And yes I know... I was stupid for not using one!!

Mathmatically speaking, I can't give you an actual percentage but it can happen. Have you taken antibiotics - even for a UTI?
My doctor told me that if you take the pill, every day, but are off by more than an hour or two, that it will render some pills ineffective. Nowadays they are so sensitive! (that's when I switched to an injectable bcp - 1x a month and no more thought)
Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Keep us posted.

I doubt if you'd get pregnant, but you've increased your chances of getting STD's by not using a condom.

You really need to be careful because even those that take them perfectly can and do get pregnant. Granted it is a slimmer chance.
I have two younger cousins whose mother was on the pill and taking it perfectly but she still got pregnant twice. The first she had been on it for about a year and then found out she was expecting. So after that one was born she went to a different pill and low and behold about six months later she was pregnant yet again. She gave up after that and got her tubes tied(that last was her sixth child and she had wanted to stop after the fourth child).
So the chance is there so just be aware of it and make sure you can deal with it if it did happen.

the odds of getting struck by lightning are around 1:750,000. A quick look at webmd, reveals that birth control pills are on average 97% effective. that translates to 1:33 approximately.
