Hi everyone,
I'm a new poster here. I have thought since high school that I may have ADD. I'm now 26 years old. I will be going to grad school soon and I will most likely get student health insurance. I was wondering if anyone knows if seeing a psychiatrist to get tested for ADD is expensive? Thanks!

You need to see a regular doc and get a referal to a clinic that does testing for ADD/ADHD. The trained staff at the clinic usually administers the tests and then the Psych doc will will go over the results with you and recommend treatment options to be persued with your regular doc or the doc of your choice. It may include things like medication and/or counseling.

Extremely expensive. That's why ADD is on the rise...

Test yourself first:

Remember this test if you decide to get a professional evaluation. It should be comprehensive and go beyond tests like this one. But if what you get never goes past a similar questionnaire, you are not getting what you pay for, and any results you get are not reliable.
