Has anyone used straterra for anxiety? I have read that people find it good for relieving nervousness. I have found with my son it has had the opposite effect. I find it has a calming effect but he seems to be nervous about alot of things.. Someone suggested bumping up the dosage Does anyone have any thoughts on this Thanks

B-GRL- online, how long have you been on Straterra? When did you feel the full effect of straterra. We are on week 4 and it calms him but his focus on school work was better on adderal I am hoping that once we increase his dosage and he is on it a little longer the focus will kick in thanks for responding any information is helpful

My son went from Concerta to Strattera. Strattera did seem to help his anxiety level, his eating, and his sleeping. But, it did not seem to do tons for his focusing. We added 2 doses of Ritalin/day (15 mg in the am and 10 mg in the afternoon, after lunch). The Ritalin took care of the focusing, and the Strattera seems to eliminate the common "coming off Ritalin" evening problems. Once school ends, we may see how it goes with only the Strattera. However, when he enters middle school in September, we may try Concerta again. After reading many of the posts by men on Strattera, I'm concerned about the possibility of long term effects on the male organs of boys entering puberty.

Crillmom,
I've been on Strattera for approx. 3 weeks. I got a special trial package from my doctor that went as follows: 4 pills for 4 days at 45 mg then a bottle of 14 pills for 14 days at 60 mg. I noticed alot of helpful things about this medicine. It used to physically hurt to read things or keep eye contact with someone and since I've been on strattera I haven't had this problem. It helps me focus and does calm me, but my hands shake and I have a decreased appetite. I do take Luvox (25 mg) for anxiety. It helps alot too with no side effects. Also, I started to feel the full effects of strattera after about 5 days. I hope this helps you.
