Anal ease has an ingredient to help desensitize the anal area when using it for anal sex so it is definately better than plain lube.

Not a good idea to use: one could do some serious damage if you can't feel what's going on...it it hurts..stop

It doesn't desensitize you that much that you can't feel anything. It just helps make things more pleasurable for you.
