I started Ritalin 5mg last month. The pharmacy gave me a bottle that said methylphenidate 5mg with round, gray pills inside. Ok, so today I pick up another bottle of methylphenidate 5mg and it's round, white pills with an "M" on them. I've looked on the pill identification sites and I got the correct pills this time.

What in the hell did they give me last time??? Does anyone know? I would call the pharmacy but I doubt they would know either because I've taken all the gray pills already. They didn't give me any adverse reactions but they didn't do anything either. No wonder I had lost hope in Ritalin.

If you still have the bottle you should be able to locate the drug company that manufactured your pills and go to their website to find out what color their metadate tablet is.

Sometimes different brands of the same drug don't have the same effect. And there are people who can't take the generic form of Ritalin or need more of it to get the same effect as the name brand.
