I have just been given a prescrip. to Stratera and I was wondering if it is working for anyone out there. I have tried Adderall, Concerta, Focalin, and Ritalin. They either had odd side effects or stopped working. If anyone has taken it and has loved it please let me know.

Strattera worked for me for about 2 to 3 weeks. It was like someone had switched off all the extra appliances and I got a break from my brain. I thought it was a miracle drug. Then after this period, I gradually went back to my old self. I am not saying it is not a good drug and perhaps I needed a dosage increase, which I wouldn't do, because I am very sensitive to medication. However, I am saying that at the recommended dosage for weight and age (60mg), it didn't do much for long. That's just my experience.

My son got a lot better on Strattera but it took a couple of months to get the dose adjusted to where we saw much of a difference. Although it was a lot better after we found the right Strattera dose, it wasn't quite as good as it needed to be. The doctor added a low dose of Concerta back in and things are wonderful. My son takes 54 mg. of Strattera and 18 mg. Concerta. From what I've read, lots of people benefit from the Strattera/Concerta combo. Good luck!

Today is my third day on Straterra and it seems to be working. My doc started me with a low dose and tomorrow I get bumped up to a higher one. But so far so good.

My son and I both using Straterra with great results. It's been nothing short of a miracle for both of us, but as you can see by this board there are many people having problems with it. The key thing is to give it long enough to build up in your system and try not to let any minor side effects as your body adjusts to it freak you out too much. For us, the side effects were minor and went away fairly quickly.
