Hello
I started Adderall one year ago. Has anyone stopped taking it and returned? Has anyone stopped taking it and found life ok absent of stimulants?
Thank you

i've been on adderall for about 2 years now. its been my best friend and worst enemy. whenever i try to go off it completely the first few days i am extremely hungry, i sleep non-stop, and i have no motivation to do anything--its horrible! but after the first week your body will balance out to how it used to be. my advice to you is don't go off it completely, take less and less each day and gradually go off it, that way the side effects will not be as bad. hope this helps http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Thank you for the response.
I was going off over three days, but it seemed to be a bad experience. My friends told me to stay on it (prior to my taking myself off), but hated the idea of being on it every day. I was hoping the changes I made in therapy would stay, but it seemed I was already reverting.
Thanks again!

If you think you still need the aderall stay on it, I know of people that have been on it for yrs, that's just the way it has to be. Iam starting adderall tomorrow I can't seem to stay awake, I do have sleep apnea but iam on oxygen and c-pap atnight but let me sit down to watch tv and that's a good 2 hr if Iam lucky nap or longer. Take care don't cause yourself to get worse but stopping.

I took my son off it cold turkey after three years, he had no complaints other then he is hungry all the time... He also now feels like he is sleeping more, I can attest to that...Hope you work yours out...
