Yeah. I take Wellbutrin SR for AD/HD and it works really well for me (even though not for a lot of people). I also take a small dose of Adderall XR when needed. However out of the two, Wellbutrin SR helps me the best. I've also noticed that since I started taking Wellbutrin (about 1 1/2yrs ago) it completely eliminated my 'craving' for alcohol.

When you take the wellbutrin do you get side effects, like anger or agression, or really bad mood swings? Im trying to find something that works good for me. The adderal XR does help me, but when its tappering off i cant handle being around anyone or anything because i just get sooo irritated. Not to mention the mood swings i get are horrible. I would also explode in anger. Another bad side effect was depression. Im ok one second and for most of the day feel soo lonely and depressed. I know this isnt good and i want to try somthing different. i tryed the strattera, and I had bad side effects. if anyone else could give me feedback that would be great! thank you for replying back to me!

I can't tell when any of my medicine wears off, especially the Adderall XR. This is probably because Wellbutrin SR keeps everything nice, smooth and stable. Your medicine or dose of the medicine is wrong when you are constantly riding a medication roller coaster of highs and lows.

After you have found your therapeutic med and dose, there should be no 'highs'and no 'lows'. If you are getting high on the med or 'miss' the initial euphoric feeling from the onset of any drug, it probably is activating the addiction process. The therapeutic dose is theoretically from the effects after the initial euphoria has subsided. When this dose is found it is theoretically supposed to be your dose for a long while, if not life. Hormonal changes can effect your therapeutic dose as well.

Since you have had success with Adderall XR you may have success with a combo like I take. Ask your doctor about trying Wellbutrin. Even though Wellbutrin and Strattera are supposed to be similiar in action Strattera didn't work anywhere near as well as Wellbutrin for me. This is probably because Strattera is strictly targets NE and @ high doses Wellbutrin targets both Dopamine and NE.

Ok now the Dr. just started me on adderall on XL Iam to take 20mgm 4 times a day, and you say it makes you depressed????? well iam on prozac maybe that will take care of that. Wellbutrin never did me anygood, PROVIGIL is really good but its $300 a month and not on the preferred ins. list so they just cover 50% so had to stop that. I have sleep apnea and Iam on c-pap at night but I keep falling asleep during the day. So that's why they tried me on ritalin and it didn't help. I guess we all will keep hanging in there and trying....good luck!!

If you get jumpy buspar is not habit forming and takes the edge off, i use to take that but now i don't need it anymore, since I don't work and at home, I guess there is no one to make me jumpy lol....

i am on wellbutrin SR and it helps me for most of my depression and anxiety, but i've recently been put on Lexapro in addition to the wellbutrin. the first month it was only on ten mg of lexapro but my doc just increased it to 20 to try to help w/ my ADD. i'd like to go on Adderall because i've actually used it to study before. my grades jumped from d's and f's to b's and A's just from using a pill to study (i'm in college). but i can't get my doctor to prescribe it because she's not too keen on it b/c of the addictive properties. but i know it works, but i cant really tell her ive tried it either. i know it's addictive but i also know it helps. and help is more important to me. but as for WELLBUTRIN SR in combination with my Lexapro, it helps w/ depression and anxiety but i haven't noticed a difference in my ADD.

thanks for your feedback. Im also in college as well, im entering into my sophmore year. This past year is when i started the medication. I have a friend at my school that takes Wellbutrin for her ADHD, and she told me it helps her soo much. Just like me, the adderall made her very mood, and agressive....and so forth. I know everyones different so the only way to figure things out is trail and error. Im making an appointment at a specialist hopefully within the next month because then im gonna be off at college again. Thank you again for ya'lls feedback.

My 17 year old son takes wellbutrin for depression and it helps the ADD he has too. He tried adderall when he was 12 but it caused depression, so he wasn't on it very long. My youngest son also can't take adderall but ritalin works well for him (although he's not on anything at the moment). Our experience with wellbutrin is that it doesn't take much (he's on 100mg SR once a day) and too much is horrible (150 a day caused agitation and anger). So if you try it, make sure you get the dose that's right for you.

Hope everything goes well for you!

I take one morning dosage of Adderall 30mg XR and 300mg of Wellburtin SR (150mg twice a day).

I Take the Wellburtin SR because I quit smoking and not for my ADD, but I did notice that after about 2 weeks, I never got that irritable feeling when the Adderall XR wears off. In fact, I don't feel like the Adderall XR ever wears off which is really nice.

I don't know if Wellburtin has any affect on my ADD. I know I tried Zyban a few years ago during a failed attempt to stop smoking, and It didn't seem to affect my ADD (I wasn't taking any ADD medication at the time). Zyban is the same as Wellburtin.

The Wellburtin definitely smoothes out the Adderall XR and completely gets rid of that irritable feeling you normally get when the Adderall wears off. Like I said,it doesn't even feel like the Adderall XR wears off.
