HI, I've been reading about people's success with fish oil so I thought I would give it a try. I was at CVS the other day for a refil on my Adderall and I picked up some fish oil. I found a CVS brand "Naturnal Fish Oil Concentrate". 180 soft gels, 1000mg each (180mg EPA, 120mg DHA) for $11.29.
I'm wondering if this is good enough stuff, and if so, how many should I start taking? I'm going to try 6000mg the first day, then maybe 7000, 8000, 9000, 10000mg the next few days..
Thanks..

That sounds like the same strenght that I take and I take 2 capsules per day. That is what was recomended by my vitimen Guy. Now it takes a couple of weeks for you to notice the effects. be patient.

You only take (2) 1000mg capsules per day? I.E: 2000mg total? On my CVS Fish Oil Concentrate, the directions say take 1 1000mg capsule (3) times a day for a total of 3000mg per day. Currently I'm taking about 9 capsules per day (9000 mg per day , about 3 times the recomended dosage).
Most of the studies about ADD and Omega-3 Fatty Acids seem to be in the 10,000 (Ten Thousand mg) to 15,000 (Fifteen Thousand mg) dosages.
I'm wondering if you're seeing a benifit from only 2000mg that maybe I don't need to take so much? This is my third day taking it..
Thanks!
I wish I could take that little and 'see' results. I take PBL pharmaceutical grade fish oil with a dose of 8000 mg a day, anything less doesn't help. I've been taking it consistantly for about 2 years now and if I miss a day the medication is much less effective.
Yeah most studies on AD/HD are between 10000-15000mg / day.

Neurofeedback is the only treatment that gets people off simulant medication for good. The scientific literature on neurofeedback for ADD/ADHD and a dozen other problems is compelling. It is actually good for everybody as peak performance training.
Watching your brain waves and learning to control your own neural output, heals how you organize mental processes. It teaches you how to stop using lazy waves and instead use higher energy brain effort where appropriate. You can’t learn this without seeing what you are doing.
It is totally safe yet under-recognized. There are miracles every day in 3000 neurofeedback practices in the U.S. You can buy a do-it-yourself EEG machine too.
See for yourself: put any of these terms in a search engine: QEEG, neurofeedback, "EEG biofeedback" “peak performance” and anything else of interest. You will find convincing proof that neurofeedback is effective and for real.

Garygames, Straterra is prescribed for ADD is not a stimulant and is effective for ADD for many people. It's wonderful that neurofeedback is working for you, but it isn't the only alternative to stimulant medication for ADD.
