Has any of you heard of ARDS-I am trying to find people that heard of it. I am a surivivor of ARDS and not a lot is known on it. I do a lot of research on it and am trying to help in doing public awarness for it-please if you heard of it just reply-if you haven't ask and I will tell you about it for the very fact that 150,000 people in the US get it every year from things such as sephis, blow to the chest, pneoumina, an infection from something like a broken leg, simple surgury and so on and about 15-80% of these people die from it-yet the genral public doesn't find out about it until one of their love one are afflicted with it-it was the most horrilbe four letters that anyone could ever of told me of now that I know what it is like.
Thanks for reading this.
God Bless

I would like to know more about this disease? As my mother was diagnosed with a disease known as TTP and we had never heard of it until she had a full blown episode.

I thank you kindly-The thing about ARDS-adult/acute resptiory distress syndrom is it isn't really all that rare-I just read that more people die from that instead of AIDS every year-ARDS attacks the lungs-it can be caused by so many different things-such as pneoumina, an infection from a broken leg, aspriation, surgury, sepis and the list goes on and on. ARDS isn't gender, race, or age based-anyone can get it. It's the most scariest thing I ever went thoough-my mother told me I almost died four or five times while in the drug induce coma. I would love to hear more about what your mother has also. It's good to know these things-it's scarey that people don't know about ARDS-a majority of them until their loved one is inflected with it.
God Bless,
Penny

How do you know if you or someone you know has ARDS? What are the symptoms? Is it curable?
Keep up the good work :)
Take care and thank you,
Lori

ARDS can be caused by many things and it isn't easy to dignonos-that's why it can be a silent killer I suppose. You can get it from so many things-I will tell you more of what I know-it's so sad to see so many pass from this and being a suriving I know some of the post-ARDS things that people have to deal with and I am blessed for I don't need the o2-than again those people are also blessed of course.
God Bless.
