During the 1960's and 1970's there was a drug Diethylstilbestrol (DES) given to women to prevent miscarriages. My mother was one of those women. It was banned in the 1980's due to these women's female children have a variety of cervical abnormalities and fertility problems. I was born deaf in my left ear. My mother strongly feels the DES drug may have caused this problem. My CT Scan shows a small Arachnoid Cyst. Could this have caused such an effect to my ear? Has anyone ever heard of such a thing. Can anyone help?

I have an arachnoid cyst. It is in my back. Did the doctor call it an arachnoid, in the ear? Some people are born with them. You can get them from a meylogram, but this test puts the dye into the spine. How was your Mothers medication given?? kathryn2
