Has anyone/anyone's child experienced side effects the first few days after adding low dose of Concerta back with the Strattera?

my son who is 13 is on 60mg Strattera and his pediatrician wanted him to stay on the 36 mg of Concerta...he does not want to take Concerta...says it won't let him sleep and hypes him up. Often the meds stop working at puberty. Staying on Strattera another two weeks and then we might stop all together...don't know what we will do for school in the fall...

lasthope,

Have you questioned the AD/HD diagnosis and/or gone and had a SPECT scan done ? Rapid cycling bi-polar disorder is often mistaken for AD/HD.

If Concerta worked in the past he may be 'growing-out' of AD/HD, probably from hormonal changes in puberty.

How many take strattera and a stimulant. I am sick of Strattera. Gives me hot flashes, get dizzy if I stand up too quickly and it is expensive. I want to try concerta. Stims used to work okay, but they washe out of my system too quickly. Does strattera really work better than straight ritallin?
