Dear peeps.
I normally post on 'Back problems' or 'pain management, I have a history of 18 yrs back probs and 14 months ago i had a fusion on lower lumber with all the hardware, but sad to say has not helped..
I have been on many meds and currently on 'oxycontin' 180mg a day with 400mg Celebrex and Amytriptyline 75mg a day..
My consultant now wants me to have the pump, i apparently have to have a trial with the pump outside my body first, then if that works and i pass the assesment with the psychologist, i get the real thing.
I hope someone can give me any advice here, i am searching every where for all types of experience and advice, before i say yes to this procedure..
If any friend knows anything, could you take me through everything! from the Assesment to the trial, and then the op having the real thing in and also if you have relief from it, and post op..
love Pebbles xxxx Merry Christmas everyone....xxxx

Hello Pebbles
I have a girlfriend who has a pump and she said it is the best thing she has ever done for the pain! She has had 2 back surgeries! But she still takes alot of her oral meds also! I'm sorry i can't help you further!!
But i know she is a much more healthy person after the pump!
Take care
Sue
