My blood pressure used to be sub normal- like 86 over 50. Since I have ahd the RSD it has gotten higher and higher.

I got really upset over the weekend and had a panic attack- at least I think it was one -first one I have ever had in my life (non medicine induced) I was in a safe environment jsut discussing something upsetting and my blood pressure sky rocketed. Couldn't breath, started vomitting, the whole drama. The pain level was excrutiating.

The next day when we checked it, when I thought it was more normal it was like 140 over 110. I've had to go on blood pressure medication. On top of everything else this is just stupid. I am getting discouraged.

Has anyone else had these episodes. Or has your blood pressure changed?

Thanks
Just for today........

Cathy,

I to have high blood pressure since getting RSD. Mine also runs about 180/110. I am also a sufferer of panic attacks they are absolute h***.

RSD does contribute to high blood pressure. The sympathetic nervous system controls our vital signs including pulse and blood pressure.

Take care

That stinks. The panic attacks are awful and I don't usually have a logical reason for such a dramatic reaction. I am beginning to think that my outsides are now just showing what I used to hide before I got RSD. I really looked much cooler then!

What do you do with the panic. Can you head it off? Thanks for responding. It makes sense, I forget that theree is a whole sympathetic system that takes a hit.

Cathy,

I take zoloft for my depression and anxiety. It does really help. Panic attacks are awfull they can come out of the blue for no reason.

I find when I am stressed or worried about somthing end up with panic attacks

I hope you are having a good evening.

Thanks Cattys
Its nice to know I am not alone. I thought I was going mad on top of everythiing else. And yes, it is when I am just the smallest bit upset that I start with the panic symptoms.

I hope you are having a good day
Cathy
