hi there, i have done some reading on the net and most of what i am reading sais that rls can be caused by pregnancy among other things like iron deficiancy. i plan on asking my ob doc on the 30th, my next appt. but i recall that i had all these symptoms when i was pg with my daughter 3 yrs ago. do these symptoms sound right? constantly having the need to move my legs, the crawling, jittery feeling that my legs can't stand to be still. and if i try to keep them still it makes the feeling worse until i just have to move them. this is driving me nuts but all the web sites i have been to say that the meds prescribed for this can not be taken by pregnant women, so what can i do??? please help i am losing it!! it all starts about 5 or 6 o'clock pm till i go to bed then i toss and turn all night. thank you amiee

Hi, I'm a Mom to three boys. The last two pregnancies I went through I had severe RLS. Mostly, during the evening hours.. it kept me awake hours on end. I always felt the need to move my legs around constantly. I felt like I needed to stretch them. My husband and I had a waterbed so I would press my feet up against the side boards and stretch my legs for several minutes at a time to try to relieve it. Nothing you can really do except ride it out till the baby comes. Sometimes, I still have a little RLS going on from time to time but it was nothing compared to how bad the symptoms were during pregnancy.. try some chamomile tea! maybe that may help a bit.. good luck!
