I have been taking sinemet for over a year now with good results. But some people in the know say that, Mirapex and requip( I think that's what it's called), are better meds for RLS. Has anyone tried these newer med's?

I have been on Mirapex since December. Life is much better now that I can just go to sleep and stay that way. Ask your doc! Its' worth the cost of an office visit!

I HAVE TRIED MED LIKE MIRAPEX, AND SINEMET AND THEY MAKE MY RLS WORSE. THE BEST THING THAT WORKS FOR ME HIS THE PAIN MED DARVOCET. I HAVE TAKEN IT FOR TWO YEARS WITH NO ADVERSE EFFECTS. I TAKE A DRUG HOLIDAY EVERY FEW MONTHS TO AVOID BUILDING UP A TOLERANCE. I CAN FINALLY RELAX TO SLEEP

My roommate says he has jumpy legs. He will be sitting down and says his legs will be jumpy..Is this the same thing. Also a friend of mine said to take one can of pure grape juice and one can of pure Apple juice..mix them with water and add 1 cup of "cider" vinegar and drink that and its supposed to help. Any help would be great.

My sympathies to any and all fellows sufferers of RLS/RLMD. I've tried it all. The juice and vinegar thing only gave me a case of indigestion that I wrote home ot Mom about. Stretching my legs as suggested only made the RLS worse.
I hate taking pills.I'll dodge medication at any, and every, given opportunity - EXCEPT when it comes to my RLS/RLMD - I take it religiously.
I had too many years of living sleep deprived. I was thought to be neurotic, incomeptant, oh god, the list goes on and on and on - when the only problem was that I just needed a good nights sleep.
I was dragged to a sleep therapist by my husband (after he was diagnosed with sleep apnea), took the tests, got the diagnosis and fought it every inch of the way. I hated the idea that I couldn't do the simplest thing in the world, something everyone else could do with no effort - sleep. Time goes on, and we all have to grow up and face facts.
I still think lopng and hard before taking an advil for a backache, but come bedtime I never, NEVER miss my klonopin. I know that without it it's just gonna be another one of those sleepless nights, its the only thing between me and chronic exhaustion.
And exhaustion is a lousy lifestyle.
