I have had restless leg syndrome for a few months now and no meds have helped thus far. I have tried klonopin, sinemet and currently, neurontin. The only med that has helped somewhat is Vicodin. I am scheduled for a sleep evaluation later this month and was wondering if anyone else has gone for one of these for their restless legs? What was the outcome and did it help?

I also have RLS for about a year. Unfortunately, I also seem to have apnea and fell asleep while driving. I am scheduled for a sleep study for both on September 21. That was the first available date. I have been told that the results will take another two weeks. I also have been told not to drive until it is resolved. As the Dr. has noted this in my chart, if I was involved in an accident, my insurance would not cover me. So....I am jumping at night and feel like my legs have been cut off by day.

I have been on sinemet for about 3 weeks now. The first week, I had slowly incremental relief. This past 2 nites, symptoms are back, but both nites, I have been guilty of tiny bit of caffeine with, or after, dinner. When RLS symptoms occur currently, I drink half glass of orange juice and get out of bed to go elsewhere to read, with hot pad under elevated knees.

Yes, I have undergone 2 sleep studies and they were interesting and have discovered that on top of my rls I have sleep apnea. I am currently on CPAP a machine to force air into my lungs, because I have an obstruction during my sleep. The sleep doc thinks that the lack of sleep is causing my rls. I feel that I have had this disorder as far back as I can remember. I am currently taking 600mg of Neurotin at 5pm and 600 again at bedtime. This is not helping me on those bad days that I have pain throughout the day. Let me know what you think and maybe we can help each other through this thing that is so mysterious. JD
