Hi,
I have had RLS for 6 years or so. It has been really under control for a few years with the use of Permax.
I have been trying to quit smoking. Each time I try to quit, symptoms similar to augmentation occur within the first day or two. It gets so bad that I have to give in and go back to smoking.
I have been using a herbal medication from Rexall to try to help me quit smoking. I don't know if it is the medication or just the cessation of smoking itself that is causing this.
I would like to hear from anyone with similar problems.
The medication I am taking is over the counter stuff and contains the following:
plantago, major, daphne indica, caladium se1guimun, nux vomica, tabacum and dextrose/lactose.
Anyone else have any ideas about this?
Thanks,
Kathie

I was diagnosed with RLS about 5 or 6 years ago, had it LONG before that though, just didn't know what it was.
I quit smoking Memorial Day of 2001 after enjoying the habit (yes, ENJOYING, God do I miss it) for 39 years. And I have done it purely by cold turkey - eeewwww.
It has impacted a lot of things - none of which has been my RLS. I would wonder about your herbal medications possible effect on your RLS (augmentation) as I have had no apparent effects at all.
