Hi...
I saw my doctor about these excruciating leg cramps I've been getting in my left leg. She mentioned something about RLS, and recommended that I take Xanax for it, and to drink seltzer water. Has anyone ever heard of this?? I seem to get these cramps mostly at night, when I'm at rest and I change positions. My whole leg will cramp up, and it goes down into my foot. It only lasts for a couple of minutes, but it's the worst pain ever! Any help would be appreciated. :)

I have had restless leg syndrome for as long as I can remember. I have never had cramps that I would associate with RLS. I have never heard that cramps are a part of the symptomology of RLS. If your doctor feels that the cramping is a part of RLS, ask him/her what this opinion is based on. He/she may be right, but I have never heard anything like it. Stroke
