I have had RLS most of my life but it became worse after I had an epideral that caused neve damage. I also would have sudden jerking of my leg and couldn't lay it still. Currently I'm taking Klonopin which works wonders. I take it before bedtime and it helps keep my leg "quiet". I can't sleep without this medication. The RLS had gotten so bad with the involutary spasm(can't remember the correct term) that I didn't sleep more than 2 hours a night for two weeks.
