For the last month I have my penis has been itching around the shaft area. (its been about 5 months since I had any sexual contact) If I scratch it, it sometimes swells, gets alittle red, like a bug bite but by the next day the swelling goes away. The skin in some areas that I scratch will dry and flake away. Does anyone know if this is a STD or a allergic reaction to something??

Doesn't sound like an STD. Of course, I'm not a doctor, so that's just a guess. Maybe it's just "jock itch." That's a fungus infection that can be treated with over-the-counter cream or ointment. Although.. jock itch usually affects the groin area, rather than the shaft. You might want to try a little hydrocortisone cream for a few days and see if it feels better. It's probably nothing, but scratching will make it worse. If it doesn't go away, a doctor visit is in order.

Or if you were with a girl that had a yeast infection...you can have a reaction to that. You could have scabies, but itching from a scabies infection affects more areas of the body, not just the penis. Look up info about scabies online and see if that matches your case.
