This is the first time that have ever expressed to complete strangers about my hydrocodone addiction. I am a frequent producer of kidney stones that has doctors baffled about how to stop them. I usually have at least one kindey stone every 3 months. The pain is tremendous and hard to manage without drugs. I am addicted to hydrocodone 10/650 and take 4 - 6 a day. Can anyone please help me with advice of what I should be doing or expecting with withdrawals. How can I stop this awful addiciton? Any advice or information you have will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks...stoner

I HAVE BEEN THERE ALSO, IT LEAD FROM RECOVERING FROM A SURGERY TO JUST POPPING THEM FOR A BUZZ AND I STILL DO ALONG WITH ULTRAM, DO YOUR DOCTORS RECOMEND ANY OTHER TYPES OF PILLS FOR YOU? I WATCHED A REPORT ON ABC ABOUT PEOPLE THAT ARE PRESCRIBED VICODINE FOR LIFE, THAT THERE DOCTORS HAVE PUT THEM ON VICODINE FOR THE REST OF THERE LIFES DUE TO SOME KIND OF ILLNESS? MOSTLY PAIN! I AM SURE ITS NOT GOOD FOR US! BUT THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO TAKE IT DAILY JUST LIKE YOU. I HOPE YOU START TO FEEL BETTER!!!

I was prescribed hydrocodone for several months cause I have chronic pancreatitis. After a couple weeks of taking it, I was up to about 8 to 10 pills a day (10/650). My doctors didn't want me to stay on it any longer so they put me on Darvocet, which is a step down from hydrocodone I guess, cause shortly after that I stopped taking the darvocet cause I was feeling better, but I still had to ween myself off of it.
But my sugestion would be that you talk to your doctor about it. Tell him that you are hooked on it. I'm sure he will be able to help you get off of it. Have you ever tried VIOXX for pain? It's not a narcotic and supposedly people with arthrititis say it works great for them.
Don't take this addiction to hydrocodone lightly. The sooner you get help, the better. Good Luck to you. Keep us posted!!

I am currently addicted to hydro 10/650 due to pain in a herniated disk in my back. I would talk to your doctor about stopping the hydro. Quitting cold turkey can cause severe sweating, irritability and some other bad things. The comment about VIOXX, i believe it's an ANTI INFLAMMITORY drug, it relievs pain by reducing the inflammation, the direct source of pain in arthritis patients. I don't think you would take it for kidney stones.
Good Luck!
