I had a sexual intercourse on Nov 28. I tested negative for STDs a few days later. As a precaution I was prescribed doxicyclin and Cipro. I also took zithromax at the end of December for a bronchitis.

Is there a risk I still have something in my body or was this medication sufficient to kill everything?

Should I get tested again for anything?
I have no symptom except a cough that has been harassing me for three weeks.

thank you

If you took ALL the medication and did'nt just take a portion of the prescription you should be fine. Except of course for HIV nothing kills it, but it can kill you. Condoms are real easy to carry in your pocket and don't cost much. They are quick and easy to install and can save your life.

Philip,

It the intercourse was unprotected, it would be advisable to get an HIV test at three and six months after the encounter. The antibiotics and Cipro you were prescribed would not cure any HIV infection.

Good luck and best wishes,

Rachael
