My wife broke out when she got pregnant. Apparently, when pregnant, the hormonal changes put the wart growth in high speed. We both received chemical treatment but my wife had laser surgery to remove 2-3 large ones. They were mostly on the labia and one near the vaginal opening. She delivered naturally twice. Neither she nor I had any recurring outbreaks after the initial treatment although my wife had an abnormal PAP smear a year later which the doc attributed to the HPV. He removed a couple of lesions on her cervix through freezing. I can't remember what the doc said about vaginal delivery and HPV but I think it was OK as long as there weren't any active outbreaks. I'm sorry to say but there is nothing you can do to minimize the spread except to eliminate the affected warts as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the worse it can get. It's been 12 yrs since our outbreak and we've never seen the warts again. There's nothing you can do to keep them away except to treat them as they occur. Chances are that if your doc thoroughly eliminates them, you probably will be free of future outbreaks. The only thing I can think of is to make sure you use condoms (i'm assuming you're male) until you're both clean in order to prevent infecting other areas.
