Hi everyone, I was so happy I met someone else who has genital herpes; how he tells me he also has genital warts. Do we have to use protection when we have sex? What about oral sex? Can I get these on/in my mouth? What are the chances of getting them vaginally/labia when there is no sore? Man, what a bummer.

Sorry, but HPV has a good chance of infecting you if you don't use protection. Technically, if he has been treated for HPV, the virus may have been killed but it's the potentially infected area that don't have warts that are also a concern. I've read that getting tham orally is possible, but highly unlikely.

Thank you for the information! I do not have a risk for cervical cancer as I had a total and complete hysterectomy. Is genital warts such a big deal for women? What are the symptoms? If there is no active wart (they've been burned off) on my partner is the risk of getting it less?
Is there any woman out there who had unprotected sex with a man who has it and has not gotten it? For how long? Or any men out there who have it but their girlfriend or wife have not gotten it yet?
Please, some women out there who have it, please respond.
Thank you so much!
